After 25 years of marriage, Tom decided it was finally time to bring some excitement back into his relationship.
On their anniversary morning, he looked at his wife, Susan, with a confident smile and said,
“Darling, tonight I’ve planned something special. Something romantic… something that will make you feel twenty-five again.”
Susan could hardly believe what she was hearing.
She spent the entire day wondering what he had planned.
A romantic dinner?
A surprise trip?
Maybe even something she’d never expect from him.
Then, at exactly 7 PM, Tom walked through the front door carrying a mysterious box.
Susan’s heart started racing.
She stared at the box.
“Tom… what’s inside?”
He smiled, slowly put it on the table, and said,
“Open it.”
She lifted the lid.
Her jaw dropped.
Inside was a beautiful old-fashioned record player.
Susan stared at him.
“A record player?”
Tom nodded proudly.
“Remember when we were twenty-five? We used to dance in the living room until midnight.”
Susan smiled.
Then she noticed something else inside the box.
A stack of their old favorite records.
And underneath them…
A handwritten note.
She opened it.
It said:
“Tonight, we’re going to forget we’re 50 and 51.”
Susan looked at him with tears in her eyes.
“You remembered all these songs?”
Tom smiled.
“I remembered everything.”
He put on their wedding song.
Then he held out his hand.
“May I have this dance?”
Susan took his hand.
They danced around the living room just like they had 25 years earlier.
After a few minutes, Susan whispered,
“Tom…”
“Yes?”
“You really did make me feel twenty-five again.”
He smiled.
“Good.”
She looked at the box.
“But where’s the rest of the surprise?”
Tom pointed toward the kitchen.
“I also bought a pizza.”
Susan burst out laughing.
“Romance is alive!”
Tom grinned.
“After 25 years, I’ve learned something important.”
“What?”
“The secret to a happy marriage is knowing when to buy flowers… and when to order pizza.” 😂❤️
