A priest and a nun were caught in the middle of a terrible blizzard.
With the snow getting heavier by the minute, they spotted a deserted cabin and hurried inside.
Luckily, it was warm enough to survive the night.
Inside, they found a bed, a sleeping bag, and a pile of thick blankets.
Being a gentleman, the priest offered the bed to the nun while he took the sleeping bag.
They settled down for the night.
A few minutes later, the nun called out,
“Father… Father, I’m cold!”
The priest sighed, reached for another blanket, and said,
“Sister, there are plenty of blankets right beside you.”
She pulled one over herself.
A few minutes passed.
Then:
“Father… I’m still cold!”
The priest hesitated.
Finally, he said,
“Sister… perhaps we should pretend we’re married.”
The nun suddenly went quiet.
Then she replied,
“That sounds like a wonderful idea.”
The priest smiled, thinking he’d finally solved the problem.
There was a long silence.
Then the nun said,
“Good. Then get out of bed and fetch me another blanket, husband.”
The priest stared into the darkness.
He’d walked straight into that one.
“Of course, dear.”
The nun smiled beneath her blankets.
“Thank you, darling.”
And from the other side of the cabin came the priest’s exhausted voice:
“I suddenly understand why marriage is considered a lifelong commitment.” 😂
